Abstract

This study examines the impact of supervisor support on turnover intention, with work engagement as a mediator among hospitality industry employees in South Tangerang. Utilizing a quantitative design, data were collected via online questionnaires from 108 hotel employees selected through purposive sampling. Structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4 analyzed the data. The results reveal that supervisor support significantly reduces turnover intention and enhances work engagement. Furthermore, work engagement significantly decreases turnover intention and partially mediates the indirect relationship between supervisor support and turnover intention. This study shows that the effectiveness of supervisor support depends on employees' ability to direct leadership attention into work engagement, implying the need for integrated, capacity-driven organizational interventions.
